Now that the Center is open, we invite you to join this on-going effort to preserve history and help tell the story of freedom for all. One-time gifts as well as commitments to regularly support the PURE Center are needed and most appreciated.

How to Make a Gift to the PURE Center

Past grants and gifts have allowed us to set up a computer center, a core library collection and gather artifacts. We are currently raising money for operating funds. The PURE Center is a component fund of the Muskingum County Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible and may be mailed to:

Named after the abolitionist and author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin and sister of the Rev. William Beecher, abolitionist minister of the Putnam Presbyterian Church

The Robert Burns Brown Club

Named after Civil War Medal of Honor recipient, Editor of the Zanesville Courier,and conductor on the Underground Railroad

Named after Zanesville native and the President of the Ohio Abolitionist Society
